Addressing Emotional Abuse and Anger in Relationships
Transforming Negative Patterns, Fostering Responsibility
For over 14 years, I worked in the court system with individuals mandated to attend treatment due to verbal, emotional, or physical abuse toward their partners. Today in private practice, I specialize in helping those who engage in emotionally or verbally abusive behaviors—often people who have been told by their partners that things must change or the relationship will not survive.
Many of my clients are not proud of how they've behaved and genuinely want to learn better ways to connect, communicate, and manage anger. Emotional abuse and poor anger regulation can deeply damage intimacy, but change is possible.
Together, we look at where these destructive patterns were learned, often in early family life or peer environments. We then work to develop healthier ways of expressing emotions and managing conflict before it escalates. This process not only helps restore trust and closeness but also strengthens one's sense of self-respect and emotional maturity.

Reclaiming Confidence, Supporting Emotional Abuse Survivors
I also work with individuals who have been on the receiving end of emotional and verbal abuse. This kind of abuse, especially when experienced over time, can leave deep wounds, often eroding self-esteem, creating confusion, and shattering a person's sense of identity.
Many survivors struggle to understand what they've experienced. They've often been blamed for every conflict, manipulated through mind games, and told that they were "too sensitive" or "crazy." Because there are no bruises, it can be hard to recognize it as abuse—yet emotional abuse is just as damaging, and it often meets the legal definition of domestic violence. Acknowledging this truth is often the first, courageous step toward healing.
The work we do together is focused on helping you let go of the blame that you have been carrying, often assigned to you by your partner from the beginning of the relationship. Once the actual dynamics of an abusive relationship are explained and understood by victims, it becomes much easier to recover the self-esteem that was once theirs.
